You will need to first make sure that you have accounts for the assets you would like to receive on your KeepKey device.
Adding an Account:
1. Open the KeepKey app and enter your PIN.
2. Click on "Add Account" in the bottom right corner of the window.
3. Select the account you wish to add.
4. Enter a name for the account and select "Add Account".
5. The new account will now be listed among your other accounts.
Note: Once an account is added, it cannot be deleted or removed.
Sending Assets:
Step 1 -Open the KeepKey Client App. Each time KeepKey is unplugged and plugged back in, you will need to authenticate your device by entering the PIN you chose during initialization.
Step 2 -If you have multiple accounts on your device, select the receiving account for the transaction.
Step 3 - Select “Receive Bitcoin”.
Step 4 - Copy the receiving address by clicking the green clipboard icon.
Step 5 - Make sure that the address provided matches the address displayed on your KeepKey. This step ensures that the address does, in fact, belong to KeepKey. With that being said, your KeepKey does not need to be connected to receive bitcoin. Feel free to save one or more addresses to use at a later date without having to connect your KeepKey.
KeepKey will provide you with an unused address to which you can send digital assets. Click on the green clipboard icon to copy the address to your clipboard. To generate more than one new address, click on the right arrow beside the QR code. This will create a new one. Navigate through the addresses using the < > arrows.
This address can be given to anyone you require payment from. You can also send bitcoin to this address from an existing third-party wallet that belongs to you. This address will work for the lifetime of your digital currency accounts; it will never expire. An address, once created, remains yours to use in perpetuity.
However, unless you understand the privacy implications of reusing addresses, KeepKey recommends using a new address every time you receive a transaction. By default, KeepKey generates a new address for each transaction.
Ethereum
KeepKey’s unique support for ERC-20 tokens is native and therefore does not rely on a third-party wallet to create raw transactions.
Every Ethereum account on your KeepKey device will only have one unique address - you cannot generate another address for that account. ERC-20 tokens share the same receiving address as your Ethereum address. In order to receive ERC-20 tokens to your KeepKey, you will need to first create an Ethereum account on your KeepKey device. All of our supported ERC-20 tokens will be listed as sub-accounts under that ETH account.
Once you have received ERC-20 tokens, please remember that you will need a balance in your Ethereum account on your KeepKey for transaction gas in order to send funds from any of your ERC-20 token sub-accounts. As soon as your main Ethereum account has a balance, you should not have a problem sending any of your ERC-20 tokens to a destination address.
